2. What personal data we collect
We collect the following personal data:
- Contact form: When you use the contact form on our website, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Website analytics: When you consent to analytics cookies, we collect information about how you use our website through Google Analytics 4, including your approximate location (derived from your IP address), the type of device and browser you use, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at our website.
We do not collect payment or financial information through this website. Our books are sold via third-party retailers such as Amazon, who handle any purchase and payment data directly under their own privacy policies.
3. How we use your personal data
We use your personal data to:
- respond to enquiries you send us through the contact form;
- understand how visitors use our website, so we can improve its content and design;
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not currently operate an email newsletter or mailing list. If this changes in future, we will update this policy and ask for your separate consent before adding you to any marketing list.
4. Our legal basis for processing your data
- Contact form enquiries: we process this data based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you have chosen to send us, and, where relevant, your consent.
- Analytics cookies: we only process this data with your consent, given through our cookie banner. You can withdraw this consent at any time by updating your cookie preferences.
5. Who we share your data with
We use a small number of trusted third-party service providers to run this website:
- Google (Google Analytics 4), to understand website usage, only once you have consented to analytics cookies;
- Supabase, our website database and backend provider;
- Netlify, our website hosting provider.
These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are only permitted to use your data to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
6. International data transfers
Some of our service providers, including Google and Supabase, may process data on servers located outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data continues to receive a level of protection equivalent to that under UK law.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep contact form enquiries for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and resolve your query, and no longer than 24 months, unless we need to keep it longer for a legal reason. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics' standard retention settings, currently 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- restrict or object to how we use your data;
- request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at datarequest@koreinkpublishing.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
9. Children's privacy
Although some of our books are written for children, this website is intended for use by adults, such as parents, carers, and booksellers. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children through this website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.
10. Cookies
Our website uses cookies. For full details of the cookies we use and how to manage your preferences, please see our Cookie Policy.
